Syngenta Juveniles Colts Team Policy
Squad sizes
15 ideal but always a place available
Season 2009/10
Syngenta Juveniles Colts want to retain the current squad with 1 or 2 additions and will be asking the players to sign for the season when the forms become available. A night will be put on for the players to come along and sign with photographs being taken. If you have any doubts about the upcoming season or about the future of your sons involvement with the club, please speak to the coaches as soon as possible. I would ask parents to be patient during season 2009/10 as the players are still adjusting to the 11 a side game, and we will be focusing more on the following season.
Players
Players will be given a full Syngenta Juveniles kit which will consist of kit bag, home & away strip, training strip, training jacket, presentation tracksuit (which he has to wear before every game) waterproof and sweatshirt. players whilst playing with Syngenta Juveniles are requested not to play for any other Bc team, and as from 30th June 2009 or signing for season 2009/10 a player by SYFA rules will not be allowed to play with another Bc team. Players found to be doing this will be released. We have a physio, podiatrist, sprint coach, sports science and goalkeeping coach working with the team for this season. This offers a better opportunity to look after the players welfare and further their development in football. If the coaches decide after professional advice that a player should not be taking part in training or games we expect the parent to support that decision and not try and force a player to take part which could comprimise his own welfare or health.
New players
New players will be given 6 training sessions then a decision will be made on wether they are suitable for team selection. As not to cause embarrassment to any youngster. Current players should welcome new players into the team and make them feel as comfortable as possible.
Releasing players
Players will be released straight away. Parents will be told reasons, also where possible we will give numbers/contacts of other clubs that maybe looking for players.
Senior clubs
As is the case with most teams, there will be some lads that will be asked into train with senior clubs at an early age, we at Syngenta Juveniles Colts do not have a problem with this and hope all the lads will progress to a very good standard, but if this affects their training nights at Syngenta then the lads parent/s will be asked to make a choice thus keeping it fair for everyone involved with Syngenta Colts. If the parent chooses to go to the senior club we will wish him all the best for the future. We are set up to have every player bringing something to the team and discourage selfishness and a "I'm better than you attitude", this allows us to look at each individuals quality's and bring them together in a team game.
Training
Training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6pm - 8.30pm fluids and especially in the winter warm clothing are essential. Any boy who cant make training, there parents must contact the coaches prior to training. If a player misses both training sessions he will not take part in the Saturday game, boys who make both weekly training sesions will be given priority based on positions within the team. We have a standard at training which we aim to retain and look for players to rise to this standard.
Equipment
All equipment shall remain the property of Syngenta Juveniles Colts. Any damage, loss or stolen equipment shall be replaced at the cost of the player concerned.
Parents
If any parent has a problem concerning there boys involvement at the club ie team selection, training routines, coaching etc, please arrange to talk to the team coaches at the next training date, not during games and not to talk amongst other parents creating resentment. Any boy who is not happy at the club is free to leave and will be released. Also there will be no parents allowed in the dressing rooms, or areas around dressing rooms, unless they are disclosure scotland checked, with our team id number. This is law and prosecution could result for non compliant's. Parents should not coach from the sidelines or ask their child to do something that conflicts to what the coaches are doing. Offer encouragement to all and be realistic with regards to the players own talents. We ask parents to aid in fundraising events which bring in much needed funds, as off season 2009/10 parents who don't aid in fundraising will be asked to pay for their sons Syngenta kit or trips away, this keeps it fair for those parents who do go the extra mile to raise funds.
Way forward
Our ultimate aim is to have 16 boys progressed to play 11 a side football. To get to this stage we, the coaches will work together to progress the team through attending training events, Sfa coaching courses etc. As it is our intention to get the best team possible, it is with regret that some boys will be released and new players brought in over the seasons ahead (this is no different from most other clubs) we believe in a policy that we will try to run a successful football club with a good mentallity rather than a club where results don't matter. Syngenta Juveniles is a very successful club and each year have upwards of 20 players going into senior clubs over all competitive age groups (12 and above), we will aim to keep that standard at the Colts.
